For real... all politics and social issues aside... strictly based on design ideas... Dubai is brilliant. I am convinced that the Dubai government is building things just for the hell of it. Of course they have their calculated ideas of what will make money, etc... but I would love to be in the design meetings when they are deciding things like building a hotel/shopping center/appartment building twice the size of the Empire State Building or building a housing development in the shape of a palm tree. Or the better yet... building personal islands in the shape of the world! It is like a real life Lego set where they come up with an idea and build it. Vegas used to kind of hold this title, but Dubai has taken it to new levels. Wow... smh... hahaha
